The Altered Esthetics Film Festival exhibits artists who explore the art of the moving image, including artworks that represent experimental narratives, genre-expanding documentary, contemporary art practices, and avant-garde poetics. The selections of short film and video work stretch the notion of what moving image is and can be.

Altered Esthetics Film Festival - Full Schedule:

The festival screens local, national, and international artists and features live performances and discussions. Each year a theme is selected based upon trends noticed in the selected submissions. This year's theme, Unravel/Reclaim, brings a wide variety of moving-image-based works together. Festival curators will also recognize artists with two Featured Artist awards and one Creative Vision Award.

Altered Esthetics is a volunteer-driven nonprofit art gallery and organization located at The Southern Theater on the West Bank in Minneapolis.

Feminist Video Quarterly - Free Screening

Feminist Video Quarterly is a growing community of women and gender non-conforming artists in the Twin Cities.

"Our mission is to create a network of support for artists by developing a community around their artwork. With funding from Midway Contemporary Art, we host quarterly screenings at underground art spaces around the cities. At the Ae Film Fest, we have collected films from our first five screenings, showing a vast representation of our community."
